A vinyl lined pool cost 30% to 40% less than a gunite pool. A typical replaster costs between $4,000 to $6,000 thousand every 7 to 10 years. A new vinyl liner replacement costs $1,500 to $3,000 every 7 to 10 years. Gunite/plaster are abrasive and rough to the bottoms of hands and feet. Vinyl is smooth and will not leave toes and fingertips tender. Gunite pools can float or “pop up” out of the ground. This will cost thousands of dollars to fix. Floating cannot happen to in-ground vinyl pools.

Just like gunite pools, vinyl pools can be designed anyway you want. You can add a spa, waterfall or anything else that a gunite pool would have.
